Council Officers
Council officers consists of President, Vice President (or two co-presidents), Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers and the pastors form the Executive Committee.

Council Purpose
The Congregation Council has general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation, and in particular its worship life. The duties of the Congregation Council include the following:
  • To lead the congregation in stating its mission, to do long-range planning, to set goals and priorities, and to evaluate it activities in light of its mission and goals.
  • To seek to involve all members of this congregation in worship, learning, witness, service, and support, and to work to break down the vestiges of racism and all forms of discrimination within the structure and life of the ELCA and this congregation which create barriers to full and meaningful participation in the life of the church by all persons.
  • To oversee and provide administration of the congregation.
  • To maintain supportive relationships with the pastors and staff.
  • To be examples of individually and corporately of the style of life and ministry expected of all baptized persons.
  • To promote a congregational climate of peace and goodwill and, as differences and conflicts arrive, endeavor to foster mutual understanding.
  • To arrange for pastoral service during the sickness or absence of the pastor.
  • To emphasize partnership with the synod and churchwide organization of the ELCA.
  • To recommend and encourage the use of program resources produced or approved by the ELCA.
  • To seek out and encourage qualified persons to prepare for the ministry of the Gospel.
  • To be responsible for the financial and property matters of the congregation. 

Council Structure
The voting membership of the Congregation Council consists of not more than 19 or less than 11 members of the congregation. Any voting member of the congregation may be elected to the Council. The members of the Congregation Council are elected at a legally called meeting of the congregation during the month(s) of May or June. Their term of office is two years, serving no more than three full or partial terms consecutively. 

Council Meetings
The Congregation Council shall normally meet once a month. Special meetings may be called by the pastor or the president or co-presidents.
