St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church welcomes you and invites you to join us for worship and experience for yourself the joy, support and sense of community we share. We would also like to extend an invitation to consider becoming a member of St. Paul-Reformation. The people of St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church are ready to welcome you into this vibrant community of faith.
Membership Orientation Sessions are held three times each year (Spring, Summer, Fall) and will include an overview of the mission and ministry of St. Paul-Reformation, small group Bible study and discussion, and an opportunity to meet the pastors of your church. You will also hear about the various ministries of St. Paul-Reformation, so that you can decide where to be involved in the life and mission of our congregation.
We also invite persons who are planning to join the church to attend a supper gathering where you will meet some of the leaders of St. Paul-Reformation, who provide the meal. These evenings are often held in the homes of church members.
Dates for Membership Orientation Sessions will be published in St. Paul-Reformation’s weekly e-mail (please send your e-mail address to office@stpaulref.org if you wish to receive this each Friday) and in the church’s monthly newsletter, The Spectrum.
If you plan to become a member, I encourage you to contact the church office to complete a member information form, and to treat yourself as a member by involving yourself in the congregation where your interests are met. On the stated Sunday for receiving members, you will have an opportunity at the 10:30 a.m. service to participate in a liturgy of welcome, affirming your baptism.
The pastors will meet with anyone seeking to join the church through baptism for more in-depth instruction in Christian faith. Baptisms are held during the service when other new members are received by Letter of Transfer from another ELCA congregation, or by Affirmation of Faith. The pastors are also available to spend additional personal time with persons who may not have been active in the church for some time and want to get re-oriented about the church today.
We understand there may be conflicts and that you may have to miss a session. Please notify me which sessions you cannot attend. The congregation of St. Paul-Reformation would be delighted to have you as a part of our community. Please call the church office (651-224-3371) to confirm that you will be able to attend the new member orientation sessions or e-mail me at pastoranita@stpaulref.org. If you have any other questions about membership, please don’t hesitate to give me a call.
By God’s grace,
Co-Pastors Anita Hill and Keith Olstad
