This Obedience is a film documentary that tells the story of St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church’s decision to ordain Anita Hill in an act of “ecclesiastical disobedience” on April 28, 2001. Termed an “extraordinary” ordination because it occurred outside of the national church’s “orders” or guidelines, over 1100 persons attended the event, including 150 members of the clergy. Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Central Standard Film Festival in 2003, this film shows the very human faces and the very vibrant faith that moved this congregation to part ways with its denominational policies and instead choose “this obedience.” To order the film, This Obedience, contact www.LCNA.org
