Weddings and Blessings
A Marriage/Blessing Ceremony is a glad occasion overflowing with joy, and those who celebrate it rejoice in the gifts of God - life, health, strength, sexuality, the family - that the Creator declared from the beginning to be "very good." A Marriage/Blessing Ceremony is often understood as a social contract, the basis of which is the commitment that a couple makes to each other. For Christians, however, a Marriage/Commitment Ceremony is a celebration of a relationship that begins with God's steadfast love offered through the grace we receive from God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Couples who seek to use the facilities of St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church or its Co-pastors for their marriage/ceremony are encouraged to consider seriously the personal, communal, and societal benefits of separating their religious/spiritual ceremony at St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church from a civil ceremony performed elsewhere in a civil venue.
