Christian Formation for Children

Conveying the love of God to children is one of our chief responsibilities as the Church; people learn at an early age that they are valued (or sometimes, sadly, that they are not) as a child of God - and it is our job see to it that the love of God is made known from day one.  Because of this, we take children's formation very seriously at St. Paul-Reformation.  From Pre-K through sixth grade, children are invited to participate in Sunday School formation each Sunday from September through May from 9:10 a.m. until 10:10 a.m.

Godly Play

St. Paul-Reformation has embarked on a new curriculum for children's instruction called "Godly Play."  Based on the Montessori method of deductive education, this method invites children to wonder deeply about the stories of the Bible.  Godly Play begins from the assumption that children already have an innate sense of who God is; together, we tell ancient stories of the faith and then ask questions about where and how God might be acting in the story.  Godly Play has two cohorts: ages 3-K, and grades 1-3.  An interview with Godly Play founder Jerome Berryman that describes this program in greater detail can be found by clicking here.

Sunday School Is Open and Free To All

Register Now!

You do not have to be a member of St. Paul-Reformation Church to participate in Sunday School; our programs are open to all and free to all.  We are hopeful that a time of inquiry into the Christian faith - often led by children - can be an entry point for families into the Christian community.  You are invited and encouraged to check it out, and however we can be helpful, we will be!

St. Paul-Reformation Church is committed to children's safety, and for this reason, it is the policy of the parish that all volunteers undergo background checks and training on how to appropriately interact with children.  We are committed to making safe spaces for all, and because of this, we take these policies very seriously.

Vivace!
Music for little ones every Sunday at 9.10 a.m.

Every Sunday, children ages 3-5 are invited to join in Vivace!, a time of music-making with instruments and singing.  Our goal?  To learn, to have fun, and to enjoy the gift of music that God has given to us.  Vivace! is led by volunteer Eldora Pearson, and lasts for about twenty minutes every Sunday morning.
